The recipe to a successful lesson plan

Updated: Oct 22, 2021

  1. Tons of singing! I know, not everyone is a singer and may not want to be heard by others, but let me tell you a secret....preschoolers don't care! Your child or children love it when you're silly and interact with them so singing is a prime way to do that.

  2. Build on the plan. Over the years I have always went beyond my base lesson plan. It is great to find activities that the children are doing that can in some way be incorporated in the base theme of your lesson plan.

  3. Be prepared. Collect all of your items before beginning the day. This includes songs, books, art materials, directions for activities etc. Just be prepared! Everything will flow a lot better if you don't have to search for items you need.

  4. Don't stress the mess! This has been a major struggle over the years for me. I dislike messes, or sticky stuff and even glitter! You will find that if you aren't so concerned about what the end result or product is, you can live in the moment and enjoy the quality time with your child or children.
